The Novo Nordisk Foundation
The Novo Nordisk Foundation is an independent and self-governing industrial foundation.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation was founded in 1989 through the merging of three foundations: Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium, Nordisk Insulinfond and Novos Fond.
The objective of the Novo Nordisk Foundation is twofold:
- to provide a stable basis for the commercial and research activities conducted by the companies within the Novo Group;
- to support scientific and humanitarian purposes.
Most of the grants are awarded to medical and scientific projects and to selected other research areas.
