10 million Danish kroner for two projects
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Excellence Project 2010 consists of two five-year grants:
- One within the field of clinical and/or translational endocrinology research and
- One within the field of basic endocrinology research
Prerequisites
The projects must be carried out in a Nordic country (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden).
The project must be of high international standard.
Applicants must have completed their PhD within the past seven years.
Applicants may be clinicians or experimental researchers.
Content
1 million Danish kroner annually for five years for each of the projects.
Covers own payroll costs and operational expenses.
Process
The entire application process takes place via the Foundation's application system (see below).
The process begins with the submission of a letter of intent with deadline
20 January 2010.
By 10 February 2010, the Foundation will reply as to whether the applicant can expect to proceed.
The applicant is then asked to prepare a project application with a deadline of
3 March 2010.
The final decision will be made on 18 March at which date the applicant should be prepared to participate in an interview with the committee in Copenhagen.
All letters of intent and project descriptions will be assessed by the Foundation's Nordic Research Committee.
The application form with detailed guidelines is available on the Foundation's website, www.novonordiskfonden.dk, from 4 January 2010. The letter of intent is to be completed using the Internet-based application system and submitted electronically to the Foundation no later than 4 p.m. on 20 January 2010.
Applications must be in English.
