Actual announcements - Postdoctoral scholarships in general medicine

Purpose
To support research in general medicine, especially to retain physicians as researchers in the general medicine research environments at or in association with the universities.

Assumptions
Applicants must have earned a PhD or have similar academic qualifications.

Grants
DKK 2 million is available - two full scholarships each of DKK 500,000 p.a. It is possible to apply for a half scholarship if the applicant wishes to maintain clinical responsibilities during the scholarship period.

Deadline for applications
1 February 2010 at 4 p.m.

The application form and detailed guidelines are available on the Foundation's website,  from 14 December 2009. Apply for Grants

Applications are to be completed via an internet-based application system and submitted to the Novo Nordisk Foundation electronically. The application must be completed in Danish or, as an alternative in English.

Assessment committee
Applications will be assessed by three Nordic professors in general medicine.

Date of allocation
The decision will be made no later than mid-March 2010. The scholarships will be available from 1 April 2010 and should commence no later than 1 January 2011.
